Our Practices

Harmony Mountain Farm was born out of our own desire to live healthier lives. We found ourselves constantly questioning the food system in our country and the deterioration of so many people's quality of life. What we found was shocking (to say the least)! The modern mainstream American diet has replaced lean protein and natural fats with low-nutrient refined grains, highly processed meat, industrialized seed oils and sugar, sugar, sugar! 60% of US crop land is used to grow commodity crops that are primarily used for highly processed food, animal feed and ethanol. The 5 most produced crops by metric ton are corn, soy, sugar (sugar canes, sugar beets etc.), wheat and potatoes — mostly high starch food that spike blood sugar levels even in their unprocessed forms let alone in processed form. Ultimately what we found was that we needed radical change in the food we produce and how we produce that food.

So, though daunting — we began the pursuit of building Harmony Mountain Farm — and we've poured our hearts into this farm every day. We are proud to say that with the help of so many talented folks, we've made our dream of sustainable farming a reality — and we're thrilled to be able to share a little piece of this sanctuary with you.

We believe in raising and producing the highest quality food for our family and our customers. Our animals are raised in an environment that encourage their natural behaviors and they're fed an exclusively organic diet that  they're biologically engineered to eat! We can't give you the exact science, but we're certain that the love we pour into our animals produces better tasting meat at the end of the day. We farm regeneratively which means no synthetic chemicals, no harmful hormones and none of the icky stuff. Our philosophy is grounded in caring for our land, wide open spaces for our animals and a thriving ecosystem that keeps itself in circulation. Mother nature figured all this out many thousands of years ago, and we've taken on the responsibility of simply going back to basics.

There is power in knowing exactly where your food comes from and what went into producing it. We owe it to ourselves to do better when it comes to our food, and at Harmony Mountain, we've taken the steps to do better for our community!
